Reflector Potential

Aim of the example

Signals for the ions K+ (mass 38.964) and C3H3+ (mass 39.024) are generated for a TOF with and without ion reflector, respectively.

Input

For details see Method.

peak list (ASCII file):

with relative intensities (100, 50)

with parameter E0 for initial kinetic energy

Number of secondary ions: 10000

TOF geometry: with / without ion reflector

Result

Without reflector

mass resolution 73

With reflector

mass resolution 3500

The example demonstrates the importance of the ion reflector to obtain a good mass resolution.
