The fascinating event of a total solar eclipse could be seen in parts of Europe and Asia on August 11, 1999.

Location           80 km south of Vienna (Austria) in Eastern Styria

Photos               mirror reflex camera, 210 mm lense, f 8, automatic exposure,

                          Kodachrome film with 200 ASA

Temperature measurements              shadow place in a garden,

1.5 m above ground

 

 

 

Temperature Drop during the solar eclipse

It is well known that during a solar eclipse the temperature drops by several degrees Celsius. Temporary clouds caused some fluctuations in temperature.

Reference: Measurements by metereologists in the city Graz showed a temperature drop of 2.5 °C (report in German).
